ERO to investigate special education in schools
The Education Review Office will conduct a national review of special education in schools next year. It says schools have alerted it to a growing number of children with conditions including autism and fetal alcohol syndrome and it wants to take stock of how well schools are meeting the children's needs. Whetu Cormick from the Principals Federation told RNZ education correspondent John Gerritsen there has already been a lot of scrutiny of special education and he is not sure another review is worthwhile.
