The Government says it will consider moves to rein in rapidly rising salaries for top public servants. Yesterday, for the first time, State Services Commissioner Peter Hughes named three crown entities that are paying their chief executives more than the Commission recommended. Mr Hughes says more generally the rises in public sector chief executive salaries are unsustainable. State Services Minister Chris Hipkins discuss the issue with Guyon Espiner.
