Family group conferences failing to prioritse hapu

From Morning Report, 7:45 am on 1 December 2017

The Childrens Commissioner says Maori families are being let down by a system designed to help at-risk children and young offenders. A report by his office has found family group conferences have failed to fully involve hapu and iwi, and the services have been patchy and inconsistent. Commissioner Andrew Becroft says the system is under-resourced and needs significant change and improvement.
