Germany faces new election as coalition talks break down

Coalition negotiations in Germany have broken down...but Chancellor Angela Merkel says she'd rather have a snap election than lead a minority government. New Zealand uses the same MMP electoral system as Germany and their election was held just a day after ours. Voters here waited 26 days for a coalition, in Germany they've been waiting two months and now talks have broken down. Elizabeth Schumacher is Deutsche Welle's expert on Germany's domestic politics and explains the details.
