Trump punished in US state elections

Democratic candidates made big wins yesterday in the US off-year elections. The Republican governors in Virginia and New Jersey were both unseated by Democrats, while Virginia elected its first openly transgender state legislator.

Democrats also dominated the mayoral elections yesterday, with several incumbent Republican mayors being replaced by Democratic candidates. US correspondent Simon Marks joins us to explain the changes.
