Homes not 'commodities traded internationally' - David Parker

The new Government has moved rapidly to ban foreigners from being able to buy houses in New Zealand saying trade deals won't be affected. 

It will make changes to the Overseas Investment Act so homes can be sold only to citizens, residents or Australians from next year.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told media at her first post-cabinet news conference both New Zealand First and the Greens back the law change. Trade Minister David Parker joins us to discuss the details.
