Asylum seekers refuse to leave Manus Island

From Morning Report, 8:55 am on 31 October 2017

A confrontation is looming in Papua New Guinea between local authorities and more than 700 men who are refusing to leave an Australian-run immigration detention centre on Manus Island. The centre is set to be shut today and Immigration authorities want to move the men from the detention centre to three other sites on the island. Many of the refugees and asylum seekers claim they'll be attacked if they leave the security of the compound's wire fences by locals who don't want them there. Kate Shuetze is in Papua New Guinea for Amnesty International and joins us with the latest.
