Liquor ban grows around Rhythm & Vines borders

From Morning Report, 8:53 am on 30 October 2017

A bigger booze ban will be in effect at this year's Rhythm and Vines Festival in Gisborne over New Years Eve. The Gisborne City Council has agreed to calls from the police to extend the liquor ban boundaries after festival-goers at last year's event set themselves up just outside the liquor-free zone, and reportedly 'urinated, vomited and defecated on the roadside'. The new boundaries span almost 10km around the festival's borders at Waiohika Estate. Another ban will include part of Gisborne's waterfront. Hamish Pinkham is one of the founders of Rhythm and Vines and joins us with his reaction.
