Auckland Council communications team under review
Auckland's mayor Phil Goff is already talking job cuts in his councils communications and engagement teams, even before an initial review is considered by the politicians. A review leaked ahead of it's formal release later this week, proposes cuts of five percent a year for three years to trim the $45 million annual spend. The review says there's the equivalent of 234 full-time staff in communications, marketing and engagement at the council and it's five agencies, and not enough co-ordination of efficiency. RNZ Auckland Correspondent Todd Niall has been looking through the review and joins us with the details.
