Dangerous power poles still threatening Otago - whistleblower

From Morning Report, 6:13 am on 27 October 2017

The whistleblower who revealed thousands of dangerous red-tagged power poles across Otago says a major repair programme has not made the network any safer. Richard Healey resigned last October from the then joint company Delta-Aurora Energy, sparking a barrage of criticism for its backlog of nearly 3,000 red-tagged poles needing urgent repair. The company has since been split up and Aurora is spending $30 million on fast-track pole replacements this year. Mr Healey told RNZ reporter Ian Telfer major progress has been made but he is being told the problem is just growing.
