Ngapuhi's final day at Waitangi Tribunal

From Morning Report, 8:44 am on 24 October 2017

Ngapuhi and other northern iwi are now looking to the future after nine years of research and hearings on their Treaty claims. Te Paparahi of Te Raki - the largest inquiry ever undertaken by the Waitangi Tribunal drew to a close at Waitangi on Friday - after 31 weeks of hearings held over the past seven years. The Tribunal has already found Ngapuhi's chiefs never ceded sovereignty, and now the iwi awaits the report on its land and other grievances. RNZ Northland reporter Lois Williams was there for the final Tribunal meeting, and filed this report on a day of oratory, anger, sadness and laughter.
