Jacinda Ardern is New Zealand's next Prime Minister after Winston Peters announced yesterday New Zealand First would go into coalition with the Labour Party. The Greens will support Labour on confidence and supply. In a gracious concession speech at Parliament last night the leader of the National Party Bill English wished the Labour leader Jacinda Ardern and the new Government well and says he hopes it can deal with longstanding issues New Zealanders want resolved. Neither Jacinda Ardern nor Bill English knew which party Mr Peters was going to choose until he made his announcement last night. Mr Peters said it was deep concern about how New Zealanders are faring which drove his party's decision.
