The police have named the three people who died in that car crash in Southland on Sunday. They were 28-year-old couple, Jesse Philip Ariki Douglas Shortland and Samantha Jayde Shortland of Invercargill. The woman in the other car was 22-year-old Marina Liebl of Germany. The couple's two young children, aged eight months and two years, survived the crash on the Dipton Winton Highway. The serious crash unit is still investigating.
