Ex-Labour MP in NZ First won't affect negotiations
New Zealand First's new MP Shane Jones doesn't think his former career as a Labour MP will influence the outcome of his party's coalition negotiations. The party holds the balance of power after the election and will decide who leads the next government - National or Labour. Mr Jones was a Labour MP from 2005 to 2014 before taking up a position as an ambassador for economic development in the Pacific. At Wellington airport yesterday Mr Jones was asked how he thinks the coalition talks will play out over the next few weeks.
