Packhouse worker grills English on minimum wage
Bill English was put on the spot at a Gisborne Fruit packing plant yesterday when packhouse worker Robin Lane took on the National Party leader. Robin Lane told the National leader low-wage workers were not getting the benefits of the growing economy that Mr English kept talking about. And she told him the $3.75 increase in the minimum wage over the nine years of National government was inadequate and didn't cover the rising cost of living.
