Is it time to replace the kiwi with another iconic bird?

A seabird conservation group is calling for a bird that can actually fly to replace the kiwi as the country's national symbol. 

The Northern New Zealand Seabird Trust says flightless kiwi don't represent the intrepid travellers New Zealanders are.

Spokesperson Steph Borelle says she'd like to see the New Zealand storm petrel - a bird that came back from extinction - as our national icon.
