Te wiki o te Reo Māori - Māori Language Week begins today, and one issue for Māori people still persists - the mispronunciation of their names.
The theme of this week's celebration is to keep the Māori language alive. According to the Ministry of Social Development's social report in 2016, the proportion of Māori language speakers has declined markedly over the last century.
