Metiria Turei says it was her duty and responsibility as an Member of Parliament to tell her story about lying while on benefits. She says NZ should not have a welfare system that makes mothers choose between paying the rent or lying to Work and Income. "Nobody should ever have to lie to feed their kids." RNZ has obtained part of the internal audit done by the Horowhenua District Council in March this year that says email blocking is an extremely high risk and immediate action is needed. The chief executive David Clapperton says the incomplete report has been sent for a peer review in the past few days. Winston Peters says the interests of the majority of Maori have not been served by the Maori seat MPs. He says Maori are more concerned about affordable housing, better health and education rather than water or the foreshore and seabed. Deputy Prime Minister, Paula Bennett responds to Metiria Turei's revelations that she lied to Work and Income while on a benefit. Mrs Bennett says while she was on a benefit herself as young mother, she never deliberately lied. The deputy PM also responds to questions about Todd Barclay and his whereabouts. Roger Federer has won an unprecedented eighth Wimbledon men's singles beating the big hitting Croatian Marin Cilic. Dave Luddy says it is an "absolutely extraordinary" achievement.
