Manawatu Gorge could become a cycle route

Palmerston North's Mayor Grant Smith says he wants to see the Transport Agency turn Saddle Road into a state highway to resolve the ongoing problem of slips on the Manawatu Gorge Road. Mr Smith says the Transport Agency has revealed it would cost almost two billion dollars to build tunnels and bridges through the gorge.
