Man to face charges after gun fired at police

A 44 year-old man is expected in court today to face charges of shooting at police with a gas-powered handgun yesterday afternoon on Manukau Road in the Auckland suburb of Royal Oak. Nobody was seriously injured, but Inspector Gary Davey told our reporter Emile Donovan it was a close-run thing.
