'Stop the car, there he is at the house'

From Morning Report, 7:25 am on 4 May 2017

An Auckland signwriter who saw a bank robbery unfold from his perch on scaffolding helped the police try to track the man after he fled.

The witness, Terry Murphy, realised something was amiss and went into the ANZ Bank in Glenfield to see if he could help.

A staff member told him the bank had been robbed and asked him to keep an eye on which way the man had gone.

He told our reporter Sarah Robson he was then asked by police to help them track the man...

"We were looking at where he would have been walking and I ended up seeing him at a house. I was like 'stop the car, there he is at the house'. The cop turned around, stopped, they went out with their guns and they were trying to find the guy. Soon after that, a taxi arrived."
