NIWA meteorologist Chris Brandolino says we're going to see a repeat of last week's rainfall and can expect impact from flooding and slips across the North Island and upper South Island. "Whakatane Council has a lot to answer for" says Edgecumbe resident Bernadine Ngaheu who was standing on the road with her grandson when the river breach occurred and says there was no warning at all. She's worried about water sweeping back into properties with the next lot of rainfall. BOP Civil Defence controller Clinton Naude says there's a lot of preparation going on to ensure the entire region is prepared for the coming rainfall. Environment Minister Nick Smith describes the report as fair and robust. He doesn't take any "negative spin" from it but says the report shows our river pollution isn't a problem that arose yesterday and will take some time to fix. United Airlines are struggling to repair their damaged image after video of them manhandling a doctor off a plane went viral. Aviation lawyer Mary Schiavo says it is a public relations disaster and the airline 'really messed up."
