Reviving a Pacific maritime culture lost for centuries

A voyaging canoe that was once a common sight in the Northern Pacific is getting a new lease on life in the unlikely setting of a Waihi shed.   

Boatbuilders from the Northern Marianas and Guam are rebuilding a Chamorro proa with the help of a local boatbuilder and the only surviving blueprint of the canoe.
