HMNZS Canterbury has returned to Kaikoura this morning with more supplies for the quake-struck region.
Warships from Australia, Canada and the United States, with about 660 sailors and four helicopters between them are also on hand to help.
However last night a convoy of 27 trucks carrying vital supplies for the hospital as well as water, fuel, enough fresh food to feed 250 people over the next week was stuck in Culverden.
