MetService has reached an agreement with two marae to put a weather radar on ancestral land in the Far North - to track rain and thunderstorms. An Auckland Maori carver believes the art of his trade could be under threat because there's an increasing number of them giving up the skill. A tribe in the Ohope area of Bay of Plenty says an assurance by the Treaty Negotiations Minister over the Tuhoe settlement legislation doesn't fix the problem it has with the legal document. The government has no plan in place for how to distribute a 30 million dollar information, communication and technology fund for Maori.
