A Human Rights Review Tribunal Hearing has heard if it doesn't uphold a complaint about two cartoons, it gives the media an unconstrained right to publish material without regarding the law; A bill to transfer the leadership of Te Reo revitalisation to iwi has passed its first reading in Parliament, despite strong opposition from the Labour Party, the Mana movement, and the Maori Council; Te Tai Hauauru MP, Tariana Turia, says as she retires from politics she's confident her party collegue, Chris McKenzie, who's campaigning for her seat has what it takes to win; The Treaty Negotiations Minister has assured Parliament that the passing of the Tuhoe settlement legislation won't stop iwi and hapu groups, that also have an interest in Te Urewera, from having their claims settled.
