A Maori United Nations delegate says the president of the general assembly's come under fire for delaying its first indigenous conference; The Minister for Maori Affairs, Pita Sharples, says he won't be referring the proposed legislation for a new Maori language entity to the Waitangi Tribunal as requested by the Maori Council; An academic lecturer says more works needed to improve adult literacy and numeracy for tangata whenua; Some ATMs or automative teller machines in Auckland and Wellington are to be splashed with Matariki inspired designs to celebrate the Maori new year.
