The Security Council overnight has heard from its top advisers about the state of the war in Ukraine and the conditions facing its civilians.
Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo says the utterly senseless war has damaged Europe's security and threatens to weaken global institutions
In the last 6 weeks at least 14 hundred people have been killed and more than 11 million have been forced to flee.
Ukraine's President Zelensky told the Security Council, "it is obvious that the key institution of the world designed to combat aggression and ensure peace cannot work effectively".
