Rioting in Honiara has left more than 50 businesses torched

The rioting in Honiara has left more than 50 businesses torched and looted, and more than 1,000 workers jobless.

The clean up is continuing with people cleaning up the streets and removing burnt vehicles.

Australian and Papua New Guinea defence forces have been helping the local police after riots broke out last Thursday with people on the street calling for the Prime Minister to stand down.
