COP26: Government has no new plans to reduce methane emissions despite signing global pledge

New Zealand has signed up to an international pledge to reduce global methane emissions by 30-percent by 2030, but won't sharpen Aotearoa's reduction plans. 

Methane has an intense warming effect on the climate.

But the Climate Minister James Shaw says despite signing on, New Zealand will stick to a 10-percent reduction on 2017 levels by 2030.
