The Southern District Health Board has been investigating just how big a risk Covid-19 is to the community.
The latest outbreak hasn't yet spread to the south - touch wood - but worst-case modelling for the region shows about 900 people becoming infected every week - 40 hospitalised - and a handful in intensive care.
Now, the DHB is today considering a resolution to make sure vulnerable groups - such as Māori, Pasifika, low socio-economic groups - also reach 90 percent doubled vaccinated.
