Farming towns are hoping to reap the rewards of one of Fonterra's biggest milk price payouts in the co-operative's history.
The dairy giant expects to pay between $7.90-8.90 per kilogram of milk solids.
Fonterra's chief executive Miles Hurrell said an $8.40 payout would pour almost $13 billion into regional Aotearoa.
One region hoping to see that boost is the Hauraki District.
The council's mayor Toby Adams spoke to Midday Report's Māni Dunlop.
