Emergency department doctors say patients infected with Covid-19 are being wrongly classified as low-risk, because of Delta's unusual symptoms, and that could be exacerbating the likelihood of transmission within hospitals.
Middlemore Hospital dealt with six patients with Covid on Wednesday night, including two who turned up at the emergency department and later tested positive.
Midday Report's Michael Cropp spoke to the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine President, Dr John Bonning who said this virus is very difficult to deal with.
