From Midday Report, 12:16 pm on 23 September 2021

The Restaurant Association has released a roadmap to help the industry survive and thrive after the Covid-19 crisis, after meeting with the Government.

It has eight suggestions - from an extension on the wage subsidy to removing GST for dining customers.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March last year, there has been an estimated net loss of over 1,000 hospitality businesses in Aotearoa, representing approximately 13,000 jobs.

The association expects further fallout in the coming months.

The restaurant association's chief executive Marisa Bidois speaks to Māni Dunlop.
