Mahuru Maori - the month long reo-Maori challenge

It is Mahuru Māori - the month long reo-Māori challenge. This year's month is in line with the Maramataka - Māori Calendar - with the new moon starting today or Whiro. Mahuru Māori was started by Paraone Gloyne who along with others challenged himself to speak just Māori for the whole month. Six years on, interest and registrations have sky rocketed. There've been some changes in recent years, where you can now setting yourself smaller challenges: an hour a day or half a day or the whole month. Māori Television reporter and reo advocate Rukuwai Tipene-Allen is taking part in Mahuru Māori and spoke to Māni Dunlop.
