Marae have started vaccination drive-throughs to help boost the low Māori vaccination rate. Data show proportionally fewer Māori are vaccinated than any other group. The Māori Development Minister told a Select Committee today he accepted that the government could have done better by Māori in the pandemic response. One marae in Tāmaki Makaurau has started its first marae-based COVID-19 drive-through vaccination site. Māni Dunlop spoke to Te Aniwa Hurihanganui who was at Papakura Marae.
