Vanuatu particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change
The Pacific Island nation, Vanuatu, is one of the poorest countries in the world and it's particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change - despite being one of the world's lowest emitters of greenhouse gases. The rate of sea level rise has nearly tripled in the past 50 years, compared with the previous 70. Extreme weather events are becoming more common, and the UN chief has called this moment in time a "code red for humanity". Worldwatch's Max Towle spoke to World Vision's Vanuatu director Kendra Derousseau.
