Fiji daily Covid cases back over 1,000

From Midday Report, 12:50 pm on 29 July 2021

Daily Covid-19 cases in Fiji are back over a thousand - and there is such sustained pressure on frontline workers and the health system - that the latter really is cracking right now.

There are about 19,000 people who have tested positive in isolation, and this outbreak has caused more than 200 deaths.

There is no sign of this second wave slowing, and while the government tightens curfews - still, no national lockdown.
