In 2017 Moana was translated into te reo Māori and was well-received by many children – and of course their parents.

Today it's been confirmed two more Disney greats will be turned into reo Māori productions.

Production is underway to translate The Lion King and Frozen.

The Lion King will be released in line with Matariki next year, with Frozen released three months later to mark te wiki o te reo Māori.

Matewa Media are in charge of the project.

One of the producers, Oscar-nominated Chelsea Winstanley, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
