Trade Minister downplays China trade retaliation concerns

From Midday Report, 12:14 pm on 22 July 2021

The Trade Minister, Damien O'Connor, is down-playing concerns that there will be any trade retaliation from China, after the Government accused the country of state-sponsored cyber attacks.

The government this week issued a charged statement against the hacking alongside the United States and other Western allies, causing export leaders to worry about trade repercussions.

RNZ caught up with the Minister at trade policy roadshow in Auckland today.

RNZ's political reporter, Charlie Dreaver, spoke to Mani Dunlop.
