Hauraki Gulf plan to arrest ecosystem's decline

The government has unveiled its plan to better protect the Hauraki Gulf - Tiikapa Moana - for future generations. Successive reports in recent years have warned about the impact of overfishing, pollution, plastics and sedimentation on the marine environment. Oceans and Fisheries Minister David Parker says significant action is needed to arrest the ecosystem's decline. Sarah Robson speaks to Seafood New Zealand's chief executive Dr Jeremy Helson.
