Govt spends $170m on pay parity for thousands of ECE teachers

The Government has announced a pay parity plan for some early childhood teachers worth $170 million. In a pre-Budget announcement this morning, the Education Minister Chris Hipkins said the government would help top up some salaries to help address the pay gap between early education, child care centres, and kindergartens. RNZ's education correspondent John Gerritsen speaks to Max Towle about the announcement.
