NZ video game developers fear Aus tax rebate's effects
New Zealand video game developers are worried their burgeoning industry risks losing talent to Australia. An incentive scheme announced last week as part of the Australian Federal Government's 2021 budget will introduce a 30 percent tax offset for spending on digital games development. That would be in addition to the 10 percent rebate offered by some Australian state governments - adding up to the same 40 percent offered to some film productions in New Zealand. The New Zealand Game Developers' Association chairperson Chelsea Rapp speaks to Meriana Johnsen.
