Southern iwi provider wants hauora approach under new Authority

From Midday Report, 12:42 pm on 22 April 2021

A Southern iwi provider wants the new Māori health authority to fund services that go beyond GP visits.

The government will be canvassing views of Māori medical experts, iwi and providers across the country in the coming months.

They will get their say on who will be represented on the Iwi-Māori Boards - and what the authority will fund for Māori.

The Ōtākou Health Limited chair, Donna Matahaere-Atariki, spoke to Meriana Johnsen from Ōtepoti - Dunedin.
