Japan Olympics unlike any other, says fmr official

A New Zealand gold medal winner and former member of the International Olympic Committee says Tokyo officials have discussed not holding some events due to the pandemic.

North Korea has become the first country to pull out of the Games, citing Covid-19 concerns - and also today several Olympic qualifying events scheduled for next month in Japan, including the diving, were cancelled.

Barry Maister - whose term on the IOC ended in 2018 - told Max Towle the July Games were shaping up to be unlike any other Olympics in history.
