It could be weeks before a resolution on seafood exports

It could be weeks before exports to China out of two seafood processing facilities begin again.

China has suspended exports from a Sanford factory in Havelock that processes mussels, and a Sealord plant in Nelson that processes finfish and fishmeal after a live video audit it conducted last month.

The companies and MPI were told of the decision to suspend exports this week.
