Toxicologist: Public should've been told immediately about lead in water

From Midday Report, 12:14 pm on 3 February 2021

A toxicologist says the public should've been told immediately about the high levels of lead in the water in the Otago towns of Karitane and Waikouaiti.

The acceptable level of lead in New Zealand is no more than 10 micrograms per litre.

The Dunedin City Counil has had three test results returned where levels were higher than that.

Emma Hatton spoke to a Professor of toxicology at Canterbury University, Ian Shaw.
