Rift between Maori Party and the Speaker continues

The rift between the Maori Party and the Speaker of the House continues, and in an unusual move Trevor Mallard has released correspondence between his office and the party's co-leaders.

The Maori Party are furious after not being allowed to speak during the Address in Reply debate in Parliament yesterday.

Doing so would have counted as their maiden speeches, which they've already made arrangements to deliver next week.

But the Speaker says plenty of leniencies have already been made and the Maori Party is simply grandstanding.
