Police seize ammunition in Otara shootings investigation

From Midday Report, 12:43 pm on 23 November 2020

Police say their investigations into a spate of shootings in South Auckland at the weekend are progressing well, and yesterday seized ammunition and other gun-related items in relation to the case.

There were six incidents in Otara on Friday and Saturday - five involving gunshots - leading officers to temporarily carry firearms. That order ended at 7.30am today.

Police have confirmed the incidents are gang-related.

The Area Commander for Counties Manukau East, Inspector Wendy Spiller, told Māni Dunlop they are making good progress in their investigations.
