Minister told to include Māori on future of Aotearoa tourism

A Māori tourism leader wants the new Minsiter, Stuart Nash, to include Māori operators in any discussions about the future focus of the sector.

Mr Nash said once borders re-open, he wants to focus on wealthy tourists, and ban foreign travellers from hiring vans without toilets.

As with the tourism industry as a whole, Māori tourism has been hit hard and operators have had to pivot to other ventures and lay-off staff.
